The Beast is sending it into summer!
|
As the snow continues to melt away on Superstar, we wanted to take a brief moment to look back on what a wonderful winter season it was. After 183 days of skiing and riding, nearly 200 inches of snowfall, and more than $60 million in completed capital improvements on display this winter, there is plenty to celebrate. But we can’t reminisce for too long. The Bike Park reopens tomorrow at Snowshed for another weekend on the trails, our Golf Course remains open with daily tee times, and summer fun is just getting started. As a reminder, the Adventure Center is closed this weekend but will resume Saturday and Sunday operations on June 6th-7th from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Nearly 100% of our Snowshed trails are open for shredding in the Bike Park, with our dedicated Trail Crew continuing their work in Easy Street Progression Park and Lower Jump Start ahead of this weekend. The team already has its eyes on Ramshead as well, including the new Dual Slalom course in the Ramshead base area. Originally built as an event racing venue, this new course will now also be available to the public, giving riders a fun way to line up, race friends, and bring a little friendly competition into their Bike Park day. It will also play host to the newest mountain biking event on our calendar: Full Send Fridays, a three-part, multi-discipline mountain bike series taking place on select Fridays in June, July, and August. First up is our Downhill competition on Friday, June 19th, with registration opening this Friday, May 29th, at 9:00 a.m. Don’t miss your chance to prove yourself against the Killington area’s finest riders.
Down on the Golf Course, the benefits of golf in the mountains are starting to show, with vibrant greens popping wherever you look. Our Golf Maintenance team has done a great job keeping us moving through a wet start to the season, and the Clubhouse Grill is now open for its usual Wednesday-Sunday operations, featuring new menu items like the VT Bacon Cheeseburger and Heirloom Caprese Melt. Registration is also still open for Michelob ULTRA Golf League, our weekly Thursday scramble outing featuring friendly competition, plenty of prizes, and fresh dinner from the Clubhouse Grill. Lock in your spot now for any of the twelve weeks this summer or for the full season, with the action kicking off June 11th.

This past Monday, we were honored to offer complimentary skiing, riding, and mountain biking to members of our military community in commemoration of Memorial Day. That appreciation continues this summer with Play for Your Freedom on Friday, July 10th, our annual day of appreciation for those active service members and veterans. The day begins with complimentary coffee and pastries, followed by a welcome ceremony and a service dog demonstration from Clear Path for Veterans. From there, service members and their families are invited to enjoy free scenic gondola rides and Adventure Center action throughout the afternoon. Registration is free and opens Friday, May 29th, at 9:00 a.m.
One last piece of event news: the 2026 Induction Ceremony & Reception for the Vermont Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame is taking place this weekend, and we’re thrilled to be hosting at K-1 Lodge on Saturday, May 30th, from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. This year’s inductees include Harry “Rebel” Ryan, a Rutland native with deep ties to Pico, Killington Mountain School, and the Killington World Cup Foundation, as well as Win Smith, a longtime Vermont ski industry leader best known for his years leading Sugarbush. Tickets are still available, and you can read up on the full list of inductees online ahead of the ceremony.
Hope to see you out there!
