We’re making a splash this Saturday...
|
It’s shaping up to be another classic spring weekend here at The Beast. After 3” of snow earlier in the week that helped refresh our surfaces, we’ve got some more sun and friendly temps in the forecast for Saturday & Sunday. Much thanks to our Mountain Ops teams, we’ll still be skiing & riding on around 60 trails as we approach mid-April. We’ve got a big Saturday ahead with two spring favorites: Pond Skim at the K-1 base area and the kparks Spring Send-Off in a newly refreshed Timberline Park. Our crews are already hard at work bringing both venues to life.
Though our Pond Skim registration and waitlist are both full, spectators are more than welcome to join us along the pond to get a firsthand view of the action. And the fun doesn’t stop there: after the skimming (or splashing) from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., DJ Drip God will have a live set starting at 1:00 p.m. on the K-1 patio for all your après needs. Over at Ramshead, Timberline Park will close at 11:30 a.m. in advance of the kparks Spring Send-Off, featuring 60 competitors trying their hand at a number of mini competitions including a halfpipe jam, knuckle huck, and more. We’re still accepting waitlist entries at this time if you want a chance to get in on this season’s final park event.
If you want to get in on all the fun we have in store this month, including at our upcoming Dazed & Defrosted on April 18th, there’s no better way than staying right in the middle of the action at the Killington Grand Hotel. We’re offering big deals, too—rooms start at just $246 when reserving between April 12th - April 30th, and after locking in your lodging, you can add on winter lift tickets for just $49.

In recent days, you may have noticed our Lift Maintenance team has been hard at work removing the chairs from our recently retired Snowdon Triple, which leads to some good news: our auction for the Snowdon Triple chairs will be opening soon! Head to this link starting Friday, April 10th at 9:00 a.m. to bid for the chance to take home one of the many available chairs, which first debuted at Killington all the way back in 1973. Bidding will close next Friday, April 17th at 4:00 p.m., so don’t delay! Proceeds from the auction will go to benefit the Killington Giving Fund, a way for us to give back to the amazing community that surrounds and supports both Killington and Pico.
Lastly, we have some more operational notes as this season progresses. Saturday, April 11th and Sunday, April 12th will be this winter’s last days for our Peak Lodge, with food court service available from 10:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. This Sunday will also be the last day this season (conditions permitting) for some of our lifts, namely the Progression Carpet, Canyon Quad, Northbrook Quad, and Bear Mountain Quad. The Skye Peak Quad and Skyeship Gondola Stage II will take a midweek break following this Sunday, but we plan to re-open both for one last weekend on April 17th – 19th if conditions allow. As the sun continues to set later and later, Saturday, April 18th will be our first Saturday this season with a 5:00 p.m. closing time for the Superstar Six.

New Themes for Decked Out Days
|
New for this spring, each iteration of our Decked Out Days presented by NÜTRL will have a theme for all those looking to participate. Show up in style and match our theme each week for a shot at winning Best Dressed: retro on April 25th, island on May 2nd, and denim on May 9th. Plus, a live set from DJ Benny Shreds will keep the Superstar Umbrella Bar rocking each week.
