Time to dress down and green up!

As we conclude our final week this season of daily Superstar action, we still have eyes on Memorial Day weekend and (hopefully) beyond. For now, we're still taking things one step at a time—though the sun will still be out, temps are dropping back towards the chillier side of spring this weekend, which is great for retaining some snow and bringing back a wintrier feel on the slopes. As a reminder, the Superstar Six will spin until 5:00 p.m. this Saturday, May 2nd, and Sunday, May 3rd will be our last day of daily operations this season. The Superstar Six will re-open on Friday, May 8th - Sunday, May 10th, and on subsequent Fridays through Sundays (plus Memorial Day) until 5:00 p.m. as long as we have the snow!
Looking towards this weekend, our latest Decked Out Days event is bringing a tropical feel to the slopes. This Saturday’s theme is Island Time, so break out your floral patterns, grass skirts, and leis to kick back at the (snow) beach at our Superstar Umbrella Bar. The person with the best island outfit will head home with a prize! And for anyone 21+, don’t miss our limbo contest at 4:00 p.m., where the winner will take home their very own pair of custom Superstar skis. We’ll also have giveaways courtesy of NÜTRL and a live set from DJ Benny Shreds kicking off at 3:00 p.m. to help get the party started.
This Saturday, May 2nd also brings along the return of the longstanding Vermont tradition of Green Up Day, our home state’s yearly litter picking event supported by our friends at Subaru of New England. If you’d like to participate in the town of Killington, we’ll have some trash bags available to pick up at the Superstar Umbrella Bar this Saturday. Full bags of trash can be dropped at the Transfer Station or in the Welcome Center parking lot between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Throughout this winter, we were thrilled to increase our support for Killington Search & Rescue (KSAR), the volunteer-driven organization dedicated to “locating, stabilizing, and transporting lost or injured individuals” in our local backcountry and recreational areas. After a season-long collaborative effort with KSAR, the Killington community came together to raise over $24,000 to fund the equipment and training needed for their lifesaving work. Read our latest Insider Blog for all the details on our partnership, ranging from a nighttime rescue training to a nighttime line dancing party that inspired our own Killington Giving Fund to double its contribution to the cause.
Finally, a couple of quick operational updates to share. First, please note that no overnight parking or camping is allowed in our Vale Road lots until the start of our mountain bike season on May 22nd. Overnight parking still welcome in the lot across from our Skyeship Lodge for the time being. Second, as a reminder, the Killington Grand Resort Hotel will be closing for the installation of some building upgrades from Friday, May 1st through the end of Thursday, May 14th. Preston’s Restaurant, the Grand Spa, and the Grand Café will all be closed during this time, and Preston's will re-open the following week on Friday, May 22nd. Throughout this break, crews will be working on some ballroom renovations, furniture upgrades, and several other general improvements. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Friday, May 15th!
