Cooler in the Mountains Concert Series

Happy Pride, Beast fans!

The Beast is turning up the heat as we enter June. Snowshed Bike Park laps continue this weekend Friday - Sunday, daily tee times are available at the Golf Course where we’re already three weeks into the season, and the Adventure Center is back in its weekend rotation starting this Saturday & Sunday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Plus, our Trail Crew has been hard at work (as per usual) during our midweek break, and we’re happy to announce that our Snowshed Bike Park trails will be 100% open this weekend! We have a new moto jump feature set up on Lower Jump Start, and if you’re new to the Bike Park, spend some time dialing in your fundamentals in Easy Street Progression Park. This dedicated progression zone is designed to help riders build confidence on smaller versions of features found throughout the Bike Park, giving you a clear path to start small, work your way up, and take those skills to the bigger trails when you’re ready.

Cooler in the Mountains Schedule Reveal

Even as the temps get warmer this summer, we know one place where it always stays cool. Cooler in the Mountains, our free summer concert series presented by Kona Big Wave, returns starting on Saturday, July 4th, with our full lineup of headlining artists each week now available online. Each outdoor concert is family (and dog!) friendly, and this year’s music lineup spans a number of different genres. Our first show on July 4th features Harsh, an original R&B/hip-hop band, while our last show of the season on September 5th will be capped off by Remember Jones, whom you may remember from their high-energy performance at the closing party of our old K-1 Lodge. Check out the full list of bands and plan your next trip to The Beast around some groovy tunes!

Mountain Biking Group Clinics

As our Bike Park continues to open up, so do your possibilities for improvement this summer. Consider joining one of our Group Clinics, offered Saturdays and Sundays from now through October. These 2-hour sessions are designed for beginner to advanced riders who have previous downhill experience, with a different focus each session to help you build confidence and get more comfortable on the mountain. Whether you’re looking to find your flow on easier trails or become a Tech Master, join our Mountain Sports instructors and other like-minded shredders to make this the year you take your skills to the next level.

KMBC Bike Bum Race Series

A local tradition is returning to the trails at The Beast in less than a month! The Killington Mountain Bike Club’s Bike Bum Race Series kicks off on Wednesday, July 1st, the first of eight weeks of friendly competition and post-race camaraderie. Whether you’re a seasoned ripper or looking to set your first time to beat, taking part in the action is simple. Just sign up in your division, race each week down the course on Rabbit Hole, and join your fellow competitors at the weekly after-party at local restaurants. Returning this year, Bike Bum is offering A and B Divisions for experts and newer riders alike, with the A Division competing on the upper and middle (black and blue) sections of Rabbit Hole and the B Division competing on the lower section (green) of Rabbit Hole. Now’s the time to gather together your crew to battle for team standings or earn local bragging rights on your own.

Pride Month at The Beast

Last but not least, this past Monday marked the first day of Pride Month, and The Beast is happy to welcome all who enjoy life in the mountains all year round. We’re also proud to once again sponsor the upcoming Rutland County Pride Festival taking place in Rutland, VT on Saturday, June 20th. Come say hi to some of our staff members at our booth and grab some exclusive Killington pride giveaways while supplies last!

See you on the trails!
